1996 R129.067 face lift model with the ideal specification of the M119 V8 32-valve 320bhp engine and 5G electronic auto gearbox (far more responsive than the early 4 speed). Being a facelift model it is free of the wiring loom issues seen in 93-95 model year cars and has full Motronic engine management system. Finished in Green-Black metallic (Mercedes code 189 also called Opal black/Emerald Black/Smaragds-schwarz)) with black leather interior (code 261) and black soft-top. Standard UK spec car (Electric folding roof, auto a/c, auto wipers, cruise control, leather, 'Alamak' alloys, electric memory seats/steering column/mirrors, infra-red remote locking/alarm, hard-top, wind deflector, Mercedes Audio 30 radio (made by Becker). Build date June 1996, first registered in UK August 1st 1996 and delivered by Riverside Mercedes of Brighton. The car was supplied to me by Mercedes specialist "Edward Hall Classic Mercedes Benz" in January 2017 and principally serviced by them since. Recent work includes: * Gearbox ‘electroplate’ replacement and fluid change (November 2017) ‘A service’, new A/C condenser, engine mountings, replacement headlight wash/wipe motor (May 2019, * Front suspension refresh inc. correct Boge struts, top mounts, bump stops (August 2019) * Front disc brakes/pads, caliper bolts (August 2019) Everything works as it should on this car. Hard-top, plus stand and hard-top storage cover included. Soft-top is intact with all windows crack free and clear. 2 working remote keys, all handbooks/service records/data sheet and correct tool roll. Now showing 107,227 miles. |There are a few minor paint chips/marks commensurate with age but no signs of corrosion are visible. Bumpers and lower side panels were repainted with correct satin finish in 2017. Unmarked alloy wheels with matching Continental tyres (to correct MO Specification) all round. Registration P26 TPN is original and remains with car. MoT'd to 24.2.21. Last MoT advisories as follows (+ my comments) : *Outer sill covers fitted *Exhaust silencer corroded through to 2nd skin (being a Mercedes it's double skinned so plenty of life yet) *Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease (all pipes were cleaned and liberally covered in Dinitrol at last service) *Rear both wheels noisy upon rotation (car had been stood over winter immediately before MoT, now noise free) Rear Oil leak, but not excessive diff (very minor. Not coming from pinion or output shaft seals, Most likely rear cover or filler gasket) May p/x if you have something of interest. If you'd like more details or photos then please ask.
