Sunbeam Alpine Series V GT – June 1967(E) – Forest Green After over six years of ownership (known the car for sixteen years) I am selling my Sunbeam Alpine SV, as I now want a four door classic saloon. Rather than list copious paragraphs of info, I have condensed the information in to bullet points. I would say the vehicle is extremely decent all round and presents itself nicely benefiting from being constantly garaged at home. As with all classics there is always something to fettle – but this car is an excellent example of a SV Sunbeam Alpine which has been refurbished where necessary and sensibly upgraded during my ownership. Engine: 1- 1725 engine with recent RR tuning session confirming 180 on all cylinders 2- Unleaded head 3- Recent oil change Gearbox + O/D: 1- Four Speed close ratio g/box working perfectly with seamless O/D in 3rd & 4th gear 2- Recent oil change Clutch: 1- Recent new Girling clutch slave cylinder with silicon fluid 2- Clutch working perfectly in sync with the gearbox Fuel & Exhaust System: 1- Car converted to the new Alpine Innovation Webcon Conversion, now running a 32/36 Weber with specially designed curved inlet manifold and K&N induction filter. This also incorporates a purpose made emission return pipe to maintain the closed circuit emissions. The induction upgrade is a massive improvement over the original Stromberg's – now returning in excess of 40mpg. 2- Recent replacement fuel pump and auxiliary in-line fuel filter 3- All fuel hose compliant with R9 spec – ethanol resistant 4- Recent excellent stainless steel tubular exhaust manifold fitted with heat wrap on each header 5- Full stainless steel exhaust system to compliment the s/s exhaust manifold 6- Fuel tanks and associated metal pipes removed, fully cleaned and refurbished. Then treated with POR15 ethanol proof fuel tank sealant with brand new corresponding rubber pipes fitted. Cooling System: 1- Original radiator upgraded to 3 core with high efficiency performance modern matrix and thermal switch installed 2- Electric radiator fan fitted with dash mounted manual override switch and warning light 3- Recent coolant flush and new mixture added Ignition System: 1- Full electronic distributor with high performance coil Electrical: 1- Original 10AC charging system replaced with a simple modern high power output alternator of 70 amps 2- Various electrical improvements made including relays and period correct reversing lamps 3- Ammeter replaced with Voltmeter 4- Spot lamp electrical loom installed and positioned ready for use if required 5- Secondary fuse box installed for additional services if required 6- Halogen H4 headlamps fitted, replacing the sealed beam units Brakes & Wheels: 1- Front calipers overhauled and recent new brake pads with self adjusting shoes at the rear 2- Goodridge stainless steel hoses throughout system 3- Excellent brakes front and rear with servo assistance 4- Excellent tyres all round including spare, running on Michelin Classics 155/80/13 5- All five wire wheels are in perfect working order 6- Brake system runs with silicon fluid Suspension, Steering and Drivetrain: 1- Front suspension in fine working order 2- Rear suspension now has Spax adjustable shock absorbers 3- Leaf springs recently overhauled and now wrapped in Denso tape for added protection 4- Steering is light and precise 5- Propshaft full working order and balanced 6- Rear diff perfect working order Bodywork and Interior: 1- Excellent condition with just a few blemishes here and there. It is in Rootes Forest Green (code 86) which is the equivalent to the BMC British Racing Green 2- Underneath of car is rock solid including all the sills which have been recently treated to Dynax 50 cavity spray 3- Anti-corrosion treatment underneath including recent POR15 application to front wheel arches and surrounding areas 4- Chrome in decent enough condition with no damage and all correct Series V trim bits fitted 5- Absolute solid & rust free hardtop in high gloss black, with decent perspex windows you can actually see through !! 6- New correct spec Sunbeam Alpine headlining fitted & professionally installed 7- MGF seats fitted replacing original Alpine seats – however these are available if required at extra cost or you can have the original Alpine seats fitted. 8- Lovely original dashboard and with the correct Rootes OE wood ingrained steering wheel. 9- Boot area overhauled including all cosmetic panels, plus handmade new tool roll kit Documentation and History: 1- Current MOT expires 19 July 2019 with no advisories 2- Car tax – Historic Status - FREE 3- Absolute massive history file with receipts, other documentation, continuous MOT's for decades and of course the current V5C in my name !! 4- CD of the Alpine's comprehensive restoration as commissioned by the previous owner, who owned the car for twenty-six years prior to me. 5- The car has done less than 2,000 miles over the last six years 6- With the car comes a substantial number of SAOC magazines – The Horn 7- SAOC Registered Vehicle ID – Number 1600. £15,250ono
