NEW LOWER PRICE! This 1956 Bentley S1 (right hand drive, chassis number of B73CM and body number of S 1319) was originally sold by Jack Barclay Limited, Berkeley Square, London to H.O. Bailey from a company of printers called Hopkins and Bailey from Birmingham, England. In 1959 it was sold to a Mr. Roberts in the UK. A Mr. Gelsinger imported the Bentley to Texas, USA in the 1980's. His widow, Cherry Gelsinger sold the car to a Mr. Brendon Pfarr in Wisconsin, and I purchased it from Brendon in 2016. In the photo link below please find a page from a book on the S1 by Bernard King. Please see this car is the third one listed in the document. It would appear the car was originally smoke/sage green. She now wears maroon over dark grey. Bentley Motors is listed as the coachbuilder in this document. • Only 3107 S1 models made between 1955 & 1959 • Original 6 cyl 4887cc (4.9L)/178hp 2x1bbl • Original 4 speed automatic transmission • 69,000 original miles • 2 tone paint maroon over dark grey • New Coker Wide Whitewall Radial Tyres 235/75R15 • Brakes recently rebuilt • New muffler • Starts consistently & runs well • Driver quality paint & interior • Burl wood dashboard • Burl wood fold down picnic trays in backseat • Original flower vase on pillar • Original owners manual, tool kit(mostly complete),flashlight • Repair manual on CD included • Great wedding car! This old girl deserves to return home to the UK where she was born and raised. Overseas shipping can be arranged. Her paint is very presentable, but certainly not perfect. There is some crazing, some on the roof. The chrome is nice and shiny with very little pitting. The interior is very good with pretty burl wood. Some varnish has lifted on the top of the dash, otherwise the wood is beautiful throughout. The seat upholstery is generally very attractive with some age patina. The cloth headliner does have a few moth holes present. She starts and runs consistently and glides down the road smoothly. The gearbox shifts smoothly and the steering is precise. The lights and gauges work, with the exception of the fuel gauge and heater. She recently received 4 new Coker Classic Wide Whitewall Radial Tyres 235/75R15. Her brakes have been rebuilt, and muffler was recently replaced. Included in the sale is the original owners manual, tool kit (mostly complete), and flashlight. A repair manual on CD is also included.
