Austin 10 DHC 1933, rare barn find

Very rare and maybe unique. Bought in 1970 intending to restore, chrome work all striped then project abandoned, it has been in the same ownership stored in a dry barn untouched since. (chrome all safely wrapped). With amazing help from the great folk at Austin drivers club, we have managed to narrow down the provenance. On the suggestion that it looks like it’s a Flewitt bodied Drophead Coupe. We have found a plate on the dash of the car that confirms this. The Body number starts with GS which suggest it having a special built body. Chassis number equates to a date in late January 1933. It might have been registered on the road slightly later given the body had to be coach built and fitted to the rolling Chassis supplied by Austin. The registration suggests it is from Walsall. We believe this is Flewitts Yellow, with brown interior. To our knowledge all parts are present except the read seat and log book. We are only aware of one other similar model in the UK, a 1932.
