Volvo Amazon 121

0333 344 2329
ID 8917

Purchased in 2012 from the estate of Chris Hart, of Hart Motors in London, the car had been at his Putney workshop from around 2005. On close inspection the body and interior were in very good condition and, unusually for an Amazon, had never had any welding or replacement panels in its previous 47 years. All exterior panels were rubbed down and prepped for a full respray in the original pale blue. The original engine had been long seized so was removed from the car along with the axles and a replacement engine & the engine bay were rubbed down, degreased and painted, the axles were also cleaned off and repainted in their original colours, along with the suspension. New fuel lines were fitted to the flushed fuel tank and new brake pipes to new slave cylinders, a new master cylinder was also fitted. There are discs on the front and drums on the rear, the handbrake works as it should. The Zenith carburettor fuels a very strong and positive engine, which has now also had an overdrive fitted to improve an already capable motorway experience, an overdrive stalk on the right of the steering column is period correct. The original floor mats were not with the car and there is now carpet fitted front and rear, the boot floor has also been carpeted and aids the soundproofing. The interior has been cleaned and the dash top replaced, but all seats and door cards are the originals. A period push button start has been added just above the light and wiper switches. There is a radio/cassette player fitted into the dash, although there is no aerial. Wide wheels and new tyres complete the picture and the car starts and runs well, it is one of the fastest 120’s we have had the privilege of driving. MOT to July 2019
