I want to buy a left-hand drive pick-up for towing - would importing one be the best way?

I need a two or three year old Nissan Navara or similar to pull a fifth-wheel caravan. It will be used for long trips around mainland Europe. What is the best way to obtain the vehicle? Go to France and buy from a dealer and then import into the UK or attempt to find an already UK-registered LHD vehicle?

Due to the number of reported issues we’ve had in regards to the previous-gen Nissan Navara, I'd avoid buying one as a heavy duty tow vehicle. The latest 2016 model is a fine pick-up, but the previous generation is prone to a number of problems. You can you see them all here: vans.honestjohn.co.uk/van-reviews/nissan/navara-20...d

If you must have a left hand drive pick-up, I’d search for a Toyota Hilux or Isuzu D-Max from a dedicated UK importer as you'll be covered by UK law should anything go wrong. You can see buying guides for the Navara, Hilux and D-Max here: vans.honestjohn.co.uk/how-to-buy-and-sell/
