Where should I look for a used Fiat Panda, Toyota Yaris or Skoda Fabia?

My 19 year-old shopping trolley, a Vauxhall Nova 1.2 Merit Plus, will have to be replaced. Should I buy a Panda (2004/2005) or a Yaris (2003/2004) or a Fabia for £2,000 to £3,000? And should I source it at Blackbushe, through Autotrader or from a local newspaper?

I am nervous about Autotrader. I found a nice Panda, owned by little old lady (who had driven few miles and was giving up driving) - who had been persuaded by a dealer to accept a price even lower than I would have paid. Then I found a cheap Yaris which turned out fraudulent. Then I found a nice Fiesta which turned out fraudulent. Where do I go now?

Auction. Try to find a battered Yaris 1.3 - battered because that makes it unsuitable for retail stock, so you won't have to fight the trade for it.
