Top 10: Sir Roger Moore cars
Sir Roger Moore, best known for playing 007 in a total of seven James Bond films, has died at the age of 89. Here we celebrate some of his most famous roles with ten of the cars he came to be associated with.
Aston Martin DBS
Who remembers The Persuaders! television series of 1971? Co-starring Roger Moore and Tony Curtis, it featured two equally great automotive stars. Curtis’ character could be seen at the wheel of a Ferrari Dino 246 GT, while Moore (playing Lord Brett Sinclair) opted for an Aston Martin DBS in the none-too-subtle hue of Bahamas Yellow.
Designed as a replacement for the DB6 (despite the two overlapping), the DBS was produced from 1967 to ’72, attracting 787 buyers worldwide. Its 4.0-litre straight-six powerplant pushed out 282bhp, though buyers had the option of extra power from 1969 thanks to the DBS V8.
