An impressive and rather fitting turnout of 30 Rover 800s converged on the British Motor Museum at Gaydon to celebrate the model’s 30th anniversary. But it was just part of a day packed with BMC, BL and Austin-Rover eye candy. If you’re not a fan of the British car industry’s darkest hours, then look away now. Rover Metro GTA
There’s a lot of Metro love around at the moment, and it seems it’s only grow as nostalgia drives enthusiasts in their 30s towards the cars they grew up with. A nice flat-nose Metro will draw attention wherever it goes these days, but a GTA, with its lattice alloys, colour coded exterior trim and wonderfully 1980s body graphics, is something else altogether, and we spent more time than is probably healthy drooling over this white example.
