Chris Hull’s Saab 92B

‘My father - a post-war motoring explorer and journalist - suffered a fall while on holiday in Spain, resulting in a spinal cord injury leaving him paralysed. Although in hospital, he was determined to go home and we decided to buy a car to 'do-up' at his house. The plan was I would wheel him out so he could watch and talk about the car.’ Chris owns two other classic Saabs, and his father is another marque enthusiast. Last used and resprayed in the 1970s, it was covered with dust sheets and largely forgotten. The trim is original barring the door cards, though the seat foam has disintegrated so the seats will need work. ‘It’s export spec, which means no heater and different bumpers. And it’s being shown exactly as found – we haven’t touched it since we brought it back.’
