Top 10: Classic car barn finds on display at the restoration show
A large collection of barn finds will be on display at the Restoration and Classic Car Show this weekend, 28-29 March.
Expect an eclectic mix of motors on show at the Birmingham NEC - all revived from long-term slumbers in fields, garages and sheds.

Steve King’s 1962 Morris Mini
This car has travelled through several generations of two families united by marriage, and was rescued by its present owner Steve King by chance. Given to Nigel Thomson by his Aunt Dorothy in 1979 after 17 years of ownership, it was then passed to his father in law Bernard Mastin. who loaned the car to his daughter Jane for six years, before realising that Mk1 Minis would one day become collectors’ items. He greased all the seams and chrome for protection, before laying the car up on his farm. Enter Steve King when a chance conversation with Nigel’s niece saw him take ownership of the car. ‘I’ll be removing the top layer of paint – it was repainted badly in the 1980s. I’ve repaired the seats and recommissioned the car, but Aunt Dorrie’s Mini will be kept in as-found condition.’
