Fiat 500

Fiat first hinted at a ‘new’ 500 in 2004 with the reveal of the Trepiuno concept at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show. Building on the immense success enjoyed by the BMW MINI, the Trepiuno was even closer in style and concept to the classic car that it was trying to ape. The concept was an instant hit, leading to a frustrating three-year wait before the model actually went on sale as a production car, sharing its underpinnings with the far less stylish Ford Ka. It became a massive hit, and was instrumental in Fiat’s turnaround in fortunes.
