Bricklin SV-1 (1974 – 1975) Review

Bricklin SV-1 (1974 – 1975) At A Glance

3/5

+Gullwing sports car with plenty of power, wedgy looks

-Poor quality, questionable handling, likely there are no cars at all in the UK!

Malcolm Bricklin's attempt at building a 'safety sports car' looked thoroughly promising it its early days. The gullwing design was wedgy and edgy, although performance didn't quite live up to the looks. Early cars were powered by an AMC engine before being replaced by a Ford V8 the following year.

Gullwing doors suffered from quality issues, and hampered sales. Canadian government stumped up $23m to assist the company, but lost out when the venture failed. You'd have to be a hardcore fan to want to own one in the UK!
