Bluebird V on display at Beaulieu

Published 25 July 2013

The display of Land Speed Record holding cars on display at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu has gained the Blue Bird V, which was driven up to more than 300mph by Sir Malcolm Campbell on the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1935. Typically the vehicle is kept at Daytona Beach in Florida, USA, but it’s at Beaulieu until November.

It joins Bluebird CN7, another record breaker that was taken up to more than 400mph by Sir Malcolm Campbell’s son, Donald, in 1964, along with a selection of other record breaking vehicles from years gone by. The National Motor Museum is located in Beaulieu and displays include star cars from Top Gear challenges and classics from around the world.
