Techno Classica 2015: Audi shows off its convertible heritage

Audi showcased 80 years of its convertible and roadsters at this year’s Techno Classica car show in Essen, Germany.

In an exhibition called, ‘The Sky’s The Limit’ it pulled together several of its best cars for sun worshippers, offering a fascinating insight into the company's history and evolution over the past 80 years.

Wanderer W 25

Auto Union unveiled the Wanderer W 25 roadster in 1936. It was the fourth brand in the Auto Union stable to have a sports two-seater in its range, after DKW, Audi and Horch. The Wanderer’s six-cylinder engine was designed by Ferdinand Porsche, with standard road cars putting out 40hp. But the roadster got a supercharged unit with a new cylinder head, putting out double the power.
