Classic pick-up captures the imagination

This 1954 Chevy pick-up was one of the stars of the NEC Classic Motor Show. It belongs to Joe Smith of Cambridge and was bought three years ago from an importer as a wreck, with no engine or gearbox. After a year-long restoration, Joe added a 325 six-cylinder engine and a “three on a tree” transmission. A regular at weekend classic car shows, the Chevy covers 1000 miles a year and is valued at £30,000.
