Classic car tour heads to NEC motor show

Published 20 September 2016

A new classic car tour has been launched for drivers who want to make the most of the NEC motor show weekend on 11-13 November. Organised by HERO Events, the team behind the legendary Land’s End to John o’Groats events, the new tour will have drivers at the NEC by lunchtime.

A tour will depart from Pershore in the West Midlands, Llangollen in Wales, and Derbyshire in the East Midlands on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning of the show, with the aim of arriving at the NEC by midday.

On arrival, tour drivers will enjoy dedicated parking and entry to the show as well as a ticket for the following day, with Sunday participants offered a ticket for Friday or Saturday. They will also receive a certificate and other souvenirs.

Dan Nwaokolo, show director, said, ‘The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show Tour is a fantastic addition to our line-up, as it encourages people to share their passion for motoring and get on the road in their classic.’

The cost of the inaugural tour is £175 and includes rally plates, tulip road books, two tickets into the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show as well as lunch vouchers and souvenirs detailed above. To book a place on the inaugural tour, visit http://www.heroevents.eu/About/shows/LICMS/.

Drive a classic

The partnership with HERO Events will also see the rally organiser bring its popular ‘Drive a Classic Car Experience’ to the show as well as Driver and Navigation Introduction Training for those who would love to participate on an event but don’t know how.

Drive a Classic Car Experience offers visitors the chance to get behind the wheel of a rally prepared ‘HERO Arrive & Drive’ car and to take it for a drive around a specially designed route within the grounds of the NEC. From £35 potential drivers will have the choice of ten different classic cars including Porsche 911, Triumph TR4, Ford Cortina GT and Lancia Delta Integrale.

Patrick Burke, managing director of HERO said, ‘We are delighted to team up with one of the premier motor shows in the country  and to be able to offer a dynamic and engaging classic car experience to the shows visitors. The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show has always been a highlight of the year and HERO are proud to be part of it.’

HERO Cup partner, Zenith Watches has also provided the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show with a fantastic prize for advance ticket buyers. A limited edition Zenith ‘El Primero’ Chronomaster HERO Cup Edition, valued at RRP £7000, will be offered to one lucky visitor in a free prize draw.

The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show returns to Birmingham’s NEC from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 November. For more information as well as all the ticket prices and booking details, visit www.necclassicmotorshow.com.
