600 classic Fords set for Midlands rally

Published 15 June 2017

Around 600 classic Fords are set to gather in the Midlands for one of the biggest shows held for fans of Blue Oval-badged cars. The 9th Old Ford Rally will head to the British Motor Museum at Gaydon on Sunday, 16 July.

A first for this year is the 1925 Ford Model T Railway Inspection Car which will be running on a short 30m section of track outside the Collections’ Centre.

Held in conjunction with the Ford Y & C Register, vehicles on display will include commercials, tractors, and a range of vehicles built using a Ford engine up 1990. As you’d expect, there’ll be plenty of Model Ts on show as well as transport from the pre-war and austerity years.

Thames and Ford commercials will be on display, as well as Zephyrs, Zodiacs, Granadas, Cortinas, Anglias, Escorts and Capris.

The Midlands’ Meccano Guild will also be featuring an exhibition of handbuilt models with more than 50 tables of models on display within the museum. Visitors will have full access to the museum and the Collections Centre as well as the show outside.

Tickets for the show cost £14 on the day for adults, £9 for children and £39 for a family. Discounted tickets are available in advance. Find out more at www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk or call 01926 641188.
