Maserati marks centenary at Goodwood Revival 2014

Maserati will mark its centenary in style at this year’s Goodwood Revival.

Founded by the Maserati brothers in 1914 in Bologna, the marque will be showcasing some of its rarest models at the event in Chichester on 12-14 September.

Stop by the Earls Court Motor Show display and you’ll see two great road cars: 1961 3500 GT Vignale Spyder and 1969 Ghibli Tipo AM115.

But it's in the paddock where the real excitement will be as the 250F takes centre stage in a recreation of the 1954 Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

Sixteen examples of the car will be on display at the event, including an ultra-rare V12 model.

Of course, the 250F is no stranger to Goodwood, having been victorious at the race circuit in the Fifties.

On Sunday, the 250Fs will go wheel-to-wheel with Ferraris, BRMs, Lancias and Aston Martins in the Richmond Trophy – the race for front-engined 2.5-litre Grand Prix cars built between 1954 and 1960. It should be quite a spectacle.
