Preview: Bromley Pageant of Motoring

Published 23 May 2014

More than 1600 classic and historic vehicles will head to Norman Park, Bromley on 8 June for the Bromley Pageant of Motoring. The event is expected to be bigger than ever this year, with special celebrations planned to mark 90 years of the MG, 21 years of the Ford Mondeo, and 25 years of the Mazda MX-5.

One of the key aspects to this year’s event will be the live arena and TV’s Car SOS presenter Fuzz Townshend and motorsport presenter Gemma Scott will be hosting a number of shows as the Bromley Pageant of Motoring showcases thousands of vehicles within the park.

There will also be a procession of motorsport vehicles on display, as well as TV and film cars including the Triumph Herald that featured on Car SOS and a GT6 disguised as Lightening McQueen from Disney’s Cars.

Other highlights include special displays of military and commercial vehicles, along with the show’s ‘One Make Parking’ area, which allows like-minded motoring enthusiasts to park their chosen marques together.

Classic car clubs will be well represented, with around 60 in attendance, bringing together a wealth of experience and cars. Along with hundreds of exhibitors in the trader village, the popular autojumble and an extensive classic cars for sale area, visitors will also be doing business of their own in the new ‘Trunk Trading’ area, selling their classic parts, spares and related items.

Ticket prices start from £11 for adults, £8 for seniors, and £5 for children. There is also a family ticket on offer for two adults and two children at just £27 when booked in advance and £34 on the gate. Gates open from 9.30am to 5.30pm and parking is free.
