Competition: Win tickets to Race Retro

Published 14 February 2014

Race Retro will take place at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, from 21-23 February and you could be going for free courtesy of HJClassics. More than 50 historic racing and rally cars will be in action at Race Retro and there’ll also be dozens of static displays to celebrate the sport’s greatest drivers and manufacturers.

Central to this year’s show will be a spectacular display to mark 50 years of McLaren. Visitors will be able to get up close and personal with some of the team's greatest cars, including the McLaren M23 Formula One car that was driven by Emerson Fittipaldi to the 1974 drivers and constructors’ world championship. The 1972 M16B-2 Can-Am will also be on display, alongside the F1 GTR ‘Short Tail’, which competed in the 1996 Le Mans 24 Hour race.

There’ll  be a raft of Metros at the show too as Race Retro celebrates 30 years of the 6R4. The four-wheel drive rally car was built to race in the infamous Group B events and is powered by a V6 DOHC engine, with 430PS. As well as a large static display of cars, a number of Metro 6R4s will be in action on the live rally stage.

Race Retro's live stage has become legendary and Russell Brookes will be rolling back the years with stints behind the wheel of the Sunbeam Talbot and Opel Manta. There’ll also be guest appearances from Rauno Aaltonen’s Mini Cooper and the ex-Alister McRae Hyundai F2 Coupe.

Rally driver Peter Clarke and co-driver Phil Boland will make their Race Retro debuts. Peter won 1978 British Group 1 rally championship in a RS2000 that will be on display at the show as well as driving the Escort Mk1 with Tony Mason that crashed out of the 1971 RAC Rally resulting in Mason sitting on the roof of the Escort in the lake.

Away from the live action there’ll be chances to meet some of the sport’s greatest legends, with Sir Stirling Moss set to answer questions in an open mic session. Sir Stirling will be joined by Jaguar test driver Norman Dewis, and infamous racing legend Barrie ‘Whizzo’ Williams and the public will be invited to ask questions and collect autographs.

In addition to the cars, there’ll be a huge autojumble hall, with everything on offer from those elusive spares to motorsport memorabilia and historic race suits.

For your chance to win a pair of one day tickets, worth around £50, email and tell what your dream classic racing car would be: Competitions@honestjohn.co.uk. We have five pairs to giveaway and the deadline for entries is 17 February.

You should, because we are giving away some seriously dope prizes. The rules are super simple. We want you to tell us why a car enthusiast should go to Race Retro. Answer the questions in less than 100 words and win some lovely prizes. Also you can check https://www.skillsyouneed.com/rhubarb/professional-cv-service.html and get to manage your assignment work easily. If yes, then Race Retro is the game for you. It's a game for iOS and Android devices where you play as cars instead of contestants.

Good morning! Thanks for the information in this post, I really appreciate it! But what about studying, I've been using online writing company like this dissertation proposal service for my tasks since the first day of my study at the college and I've never been disappointed of their work. Prices are excellent and quality is the highest. Dear writers, keep up the same great job!
