Goodwood Festival of Speed: Audi announces its historic line-up

Published 09 July 2013

Audi has announced its line-up for the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The seven-strong range of RS models including the recently launched RS6 will be on display, along with the new A3 Saloon. Audi will also have a selection of its famous motorsports vehicles, including Le Mans winners and rally cars.

Highlights include an Auto Union race car from the 1930s, a quattro rally car from the 1980s and the 2013 Le Mans winning R18 e-tron quattro. The latter will be driven up the hill climb course by Allan McNish, one of the three drivers who took the car to victory at the Le Mans 24 hour race in June 2013.

The 350PS quattro rally car present at Goodwood will be the 1983 RAC Rally-winning car, originally driven to victory by Stig Blomqvist. It will be driven by Hannu Mikkola and Arne Hertz at Goodwood, appearing in public for the first time since a full restoration.

The historic Audi line-up will be completed by an 16-litre, 16-cylinder Auto Union C-Type built in 1936, which will be driven by Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, and a pair of classic motorcycles – a 1953 DKW 350RW and a 1955 NSU Sportmax.
