Happy Birthday: Aston DB

Aston Martin is celebrating 70 years of its famous DB models. The initials of famous owner David Brown adorn just under half the company's models - models which are still going strong today.

DB4 (1958-63)

The DB2 survived in continually updated form until it was replaced in 1959 by the faster, even more svelte DB4. The all-alloy DOHC was new and in Vantage guise could produce 266bhp. This was the first new production Aston Martin to be built on the Newport Pagnell site where the company still builds its cars. It was designed by Touring of Milan to the superleggera principle - light alloy panels over a steel tube frame. It was available in five different series, including the GT4 and our favourite - the GT Zagato.
