Pair of low-mileage Jaguar XK8s up for sale

Published 21 May 2019

Two low-mileage Jaguar XK8s are going under the hammer. The cars are part of Classic Car Auctions’ sale at the Warwickshire Event Centre on Saturday, 25 May.

First up is a year 2000 convertible with the 4.0-litre V8 engine and an automatic gearbox. It's clocked up 21,000 miles and had only two owners. Finished in Sapphire Blue with an ivory leather interior, it comes with lots of history and could fetch between £16,000 and £20,000.

If a soft top is not for you, there’s a 1998 4.0-litre V8 coupe with even lower mileage (13,805) and only one owner. Well looked after and dry stored for the past five years, it comes with an extensive history and a new MoT certificate (estimate £13,000-£16,000).

And if you fancy something a bit more traditional, don’t worry – there are four E-types included in the sale. There’s 1969 Series 2 2+2 Coupe, which has been with the current owner for the past 34 years. It comes with an extensive history file, having undergone a bare metal restoration and gearbox rebuild in 2017. It is offered with an estimate of £40,000 to £50,000.

Lot 328 is a restoration project, a 1969 left-hand-drive Series 2 E-type Roadster imported from the USA. It is supplied with a NOVA (notification of vehicle arrival) form declaring all taxes paid. This car according to its heritage certificate has a manual gearbox from new but has no history (estimate £15,000 to £18,000).

2005 Jaguar XJR X350

But the car we’ve got our eye on is lot 400 - a 2005 XJR with 55,100 miles offered at No Reserve. An extremely well-maintained car, finished in Radiance Red with a Black Nappa leather interior, the paintwork has been protected and the alloys refurbished. This Jaguar formed part of a private collection where it has been kept in regulated storage and has just been serviced.

CCA sales manager Gary Dunne said, ‘We have a tremendous selection of Jaguars being offered at the weekend, 28 in total. Jaguar enthusiasts are spoilt for choice, there really is a spread of models to suit all budgets and abilities.’
