The car was the star at Bonhams Aston Martin sale, held at the Wormsley Estate in Buckinghamshire.

A 1962 AC Greyhound old for £82,500 at Brightwells Classic Car Auction in Leominster on Wednestay 15th May. As at Historics on Saturday 19th, prices achieved reflect a strong market for the right cars.

Despite an outstanding sale with record prices achieved, some Historics vendors overestimated the value of their cars in today’s market. Happily, ten of them are re-offering their cars at more sensible ‘private treaty’ prices.

The 1968 Aston Martin DB6 Volante automatic sold for £554,000, the 1960 Aston Martin DB4 SII manual sold for £355,000 and the 1964 Aston Martin DB5 manual looked set to sell for £450,000 +. These prices are plus commission that may have been negotiated. All were RHD cars.

As well as £1.5 million worth of Aston Martins, Historics auction at Mercedes Benz World on Saturday has 170 more wonderful cars to delight any enthusiast or collector.
