MG collection for sale

Published 02 April 2019

A collection of MGs is going under the hammer in May. Four cars wearing the octagon badge are for sale in Morris Leslie’s Classic Auction next month. Top billing goes to a 1960 MGA Roadster Mk2. Finished in red, this much in-demand MG has a guide price of £18,000-£22,000.

Offered alongside it is a rubber-bumper 1975 MG B GT V8, which was repainted in Rover Moonraker Blue in 2007 and has been with its current owner for 12 years. The same owner has had this 1952 MG TD Midget for nearly 25 years. While the engine turns, it doesn’t run - making it an ideal project for any classic car enthusiast.

If you’re not an MG fan, there’s still plenty of metal to attract your attention – including a 1975 Ford Escort. Supplied originally as a 1100L, it has since been fitted with a 2.0-litre ‘Pinto’ engine fitted with a few choice mods. And fans of more modern classics won’t be disappointed, either, with a 2002 MG TF, Mk1 Ford Focus ST170, Mk1 Focus RS, and Fiat Coupe Turbo 20V all featuring in the catalogue.

More than 200 entries expected to go under the hammer on the May 25 at the auction site at Errol Airfield in Perthshire. See the full auction listing at: morrisleslie.com.
