'World's Best?' 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS in Historics July 7th Classic Car Auction

Published 27 June 2018

This outstanding 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS 350 4-speed was originally assembled at GM's Antwerp plant where a senior manager picked it from the production line as his personal car and had the 5.7 litre V8 blueprinted and balanced before installation.

With very few owners in its 51 year life and just 37,000 miles from new it has undergone an 800 hour restoration on the body and paintwork alone, finished in the correct Chevrolet Granada Gold with black sides as a tribute to Smokey Yunick who used those colours on his race cars.

All matching numbers, the engine is rebuilt with Weiand manifold and Holley Avenger carburettor. The original 4-speed Muncie manual gearbox is also rebuilt. The rear axle is the original 12 bolt Positraction. The front suspension clip and body are stamped with original matching numbers. And the car now sits on 17-inch five-spoke wheels and tyres. Even the factory Gold 'deluxe' interior is described as perfect. Original power steering and re-sleeved power brakes complete the picture.

We don't think you will find a better '67 350SS anywhere in the World.

It is estimated at £36,000 to £42,000.

As in Historics May sale there is a total of 180 lots in the Summer Auction at Blooklands Museum, Weybridge, Syrrey. Viewing on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th whth screens showing World Cup matches so you don't miss any of the football action. More at Historics
