Jaguar E-type takes top spot at sale

Published 10 August 2017

A 1970 Jaguar E-type Series 2 fixed-head coupe took top spot at Barons' auction. The car sold for £51,700 at the Sandown Park sale in July. It was closely followed by a 1964 Jensen CV8 sold for just under £49,000.

Queen guitarist Brian May raised more than £6300 for animal charity Save Me when the 1952 Jowett Javelin he brought for his father 35 years ago went under the hammer at the sale.

Tim Gascoigne, Barons’ auction manager, said, ‘The hall was full of interesting and top quality cars, and we've received some great feedback from customers who attended the auction.’
