Ford Escort XR3i makes £13k at auction

A 1988 Ford Escort XR3i with 9000 miles on the clock made £13,420 at Barons Winter Warmer sale. With just two previous owners, the car was completely original and in excellent condition when it went under the hammer on 23 February.

Biggest price of the day went to a 1955 Triumph TR2, once owned by TR expert and author Bill Piggott, which achieved £20,350. A 1928 Rolls-Royce 20 that starred with Alec Guinness in the 1955 romantic comedy ‘To Paris With Love’ sold after the auction, although the price hasn’t been released.
