Ferrari Testarossas set to steal the show at Silverstone sale

Published 11 May 2015

Two Ferrari Testarossas are up for grabs at Silverstone Auctions’ 23 May sale.

The cars, a 1986 and a 1994 model, represent the beginning and the end of Testarossa development. And with prices for these Italian models up 50 per cent in the past six months alone, bidding is sure to be fierce.

The late-model 1994 Ferrari F512 M carries an estimated of between £280,000 and £330,000. One of just 501 made worldwide, this two-owner, left-hand drive car is finished in Giallo Modena with Nero leather upholstery.

It has covered a 11,000 miles from new and is supplied with three keys, service books, toolbox, flash light and Tubi Exhaust.

The other Testaross for sale is a 1986 ‘Flying Mirror’ – one of the earliest and rarest of all Testarossas. The car was originally finished in Bianco, but was repainted early in its life in Giallo Fly Yellow.

Its odometer reads 45,000 miles and with only two previous owners, this car is estimated at between £80,000 and £100,000.

It also has lots of history, having been maintained regardless of cost by a number of Ferrari specialists, most notably Autofficina. Inside, the 1980's Pioneer stereo is intact while the car also comes with its three-piece luggage set in a cloth bag.

Two more Testarossas will be offered including a 1989 example, presented in Rosso Corsa, estimated at between £120,000 and £140,000.
