Rare Ferrari goes under the hammer

A rare Ferrari 365GTS/4 Daytona Spider worth an estimated £2.25 million is going under the hammer. The car is part of a famous collection that will be offered for sale by Silverstone Auctions at The Salon Privé Sale on 4 September in London.

The collection was built up by Henry Pearman, the founder and CEO of Eagle - the Jaguar E-type specialist – and contains many unique, high-end, original cars. It is known as the ‘Stradale’Collection.

As well as the Ferrari, which is one of just 122 made, there are many other iconic Italian models for sale, including one of 349 Ferrari F50s to be built. This example with 6219 miles on the clock is worth between £600,000 and £750,000. Also for sale is an F40, with only 10,738 miles recorded – again estimated at between £600,000 and £750,000.

An original but mechanically fresh 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400 presented in its original striking yellow (£600,000 and £750,000) will also be auctioned.

Some special British models are also for sale, including a 1931 Bentley 4 ½ Litre Blower. This example is number 25 - the final car in the first batch of just 50 produced. Estimated at between £2.2 and £2.5 million, the car enjoyed a trouble-free 3000 km run in the inaugural Blower Bentley International Rally in 2010, which celebrated the cars 80^th anniversary at Le Mans.

Another famous car for sale is a convertible Aston Martin, a sister car to Prince Charles’s DB6 Mk II Volante (the model immortalised by Prince William and Kate at their wedding). One of only 38 produced, and of just 17 to feature a manual gearbox, this is estimated at £820,000 - £920,000.
