'Box fresh' Lamborghini Countach up for grabs at Historics

Published 16 May 2014

A rare, right-hand drive, ultra-low mileage 1982 Lamborghini Countach LP5000S is to top the lots at Historics' sale on 7 June at Brooklands. The car, which is estimated between £110,000-145,000 has been laid-up for 23 years, and is ready to drive... or display by its next owner.

The Countach is a legend, and in recent years, values have been climbing, following on the coat tales of its predecessor, the Lamborghini Miura. Of a total production of 2042 models over its 16-year lifespan from 1974, just 321 LP5000S versions were produced, this being one of the first to be fitted with the larger capacity 4.8-litre V12 engine introduced that year.

This white example, with matching white leather interior, is so of its time. Although it's been in storage for the past 23 years - two thirds of its life to date. It has been treated to regular starting, conditioning and scheduled servicing by Portman Lamborghini and Lamborghini London. This culminated in a very thorough major service at HR Owen London at a cost of more than £4500 over the last two months.

The fact that it has covered just 13,642km (8543 miles) since new makes this Countach all the more attractive as a collector's, although we'd hope it'll be driven a bit more regularly that it's been in the past. The Countach joins 100-plus classic cars at Historics’ largest auction of the year at Brooklands Museum, near Weybridge.
