Chance to buy a Perfect Condition Jaguar That is Bound to Appreciate

Published 21 May 2014

In its Jaguar Heritage sale at Sandown Park, Esher, Surrey, on 24th June, Barons will be offering a one owner 1980 Jaguar XJ6 4.2 S3, claimed to be "in quite remarkable condition".

Estimated at just £4,500 - £5,500, this is a rare chance to buy a one owner XJ S3 that if kept in its current condition is bound to appreciate over the years to come.

Barons will also be offering a 'barn find' 1964 Series One E-type FHC that requires more than a little TLC and will provide one Jaguar fan with the ultimate restoration project when it goes under the hammer. However, with an estimate of £13,000-£17,000, and with a 1963 FHC achieving £51,000 with Barons last month, that TLC could turn out to be sound investment.

Traditionally one of Barons’ most popular sales, the Jaguar Heritage sale is also a personal favourite with Barons’ Managing Director, as he is a Jaguar aficionado, so has tremendous knowledge of and enthusiasm for the marque.

A specialist dealer in classic Jaguars in the 1980s and ‘90s, Laurence Sayers-Gillan also used to own and run a Jaguar racing team, campaigning a 550bhp V12 S3 Saloon in the AMOC Inter Marque Championship and other national race series. In addition, he was a founder member of the Jaguar Car Club and served on the Jaguar Drivers’ Club competition committee.
