On the more specialised vehicle insurance side LV do offer classic car cover as well as multi-car, caravan and motorcycle policies.

What kind of classic insurance is available?

LV’s classic car policies include many of the features you will want to be included, in particular agreed value cover so that your loss is properly accounted for should the worst happen. Fully comprehensive cover is included in its classic car policies, as is £100,000 of legal cover, personal accident cover and the option to add on breakdown cover or an increased level of personal accident insurance.

What kind of car qualifies as a classic?

To qualify for LV’s classic car policies your car must be over 20 years old (so built no later than 1998) and have a maximum value of £40,000. All named drivers on the policy must be over the age of 30 and the car cannot be used as a daily driver but these are not uncommon with such policies. A bonus is that LV’s policy allows your classic to be driven up to 5,000 miles a year whilst still qualifying.
