Does Lancaster offer classic car insurance?

Want to make sure your classic motor has appropriate insurance? We see if Lancaster Insurance* (which was started in 1984) can help

What kind of insurance does Lancaster offer?

If classic car insurance is what you’re looking for then Lancaster Insurance* is definitely a good place to start. They also offer a range of niche motor related products and general insurance products. For instance, if you insure your classic or vintage car through them, Lancaster can also arrange cover for your daily car* and promise to match your renewal from your current provider. (T&Cs apply)

What kind of classic insurance is available?

In addition to a standard classic car policy, Lancaster offer an agreed value scheme which can be added to your policy. As a committed supporter of classic car clubs, members can get up to 25% off their insurance premium (the level of discount offered by each insurer differs and is subject to underwriting criteria).

Lancaster also offers cover for modified classics as well as multi-vehicle insurance-  usually at a discounted price (these can include various other types of vehicles too, such as classic cars, 4x4s, campervans and even tractors).

Alongside the standard benefits you’d expect with your insurance, such as limited mileage and salvage retention, the specialist provider offers additional benefits. For instance, they appreciate the importance of recognising the true value of your car and as such offer a two year agreed valuation, ensuring you will get the true value for your vehicle should the worst happen.

What kind of car qualifies as a classic?

Lancaster doesn’t provide specific information on what does and does not qualify as a classic, so although it will provide cover for vehicles old enough to qualify as vintage younger examples may also qualify. For example, we obtained a quote for a 2012 Mazda MX-5 even though it was made in 2012, although this may not apply to other makes of a similar age.

A Lancaster spokesman said, 'When it comes to getting a quote with Lancaster, they take the driver profile into consideration as much as the car in question. We’d encourage you to speak to Lancaster directly to talk through your requirements to ensure the quote you receive is right for you and your needs.'
