Alicante Classic Car and Bike show 2010

Popped over to the exhibition centre just outside Alicante airport to see the last day of the classic car and bike show today.

Lots to see and do, but notably the focus was European brands with very few British marques - apart from the ubiquitous Minis, one showroom condition Morris Traveller and a few Jaguars.

Mercedes of all eras seemed to dominate the show - whether that's an indicator of longevity or simply aspiration I don't know. I don't think Janis Joplin ever dreamt of being bought a Citroen.

Myself, I have to admit to being very tempted by a four door SEAT 127 - one of the last series 1s from 1977. It was in mint condition and at a bargain 1900 euros. Sadly, an expired technical test meant it would have needed to go home on the back of a trailer.

Note to self: next year, bring cash and a car transporter. ;)

Entry for the family, plus half-time refreshments came in at under 20 euros. A cheap day out.
