My beloved 20 year old Jaguar XJ6 has developed electrical problems, due partly to water getting into the wiring. My mechanic has sourced some used parts (Jaguar don't make them any more), but the immobiliser can't be bypassed. So, now most of the electrics work but the car won't start. It's been off the road for two months. It has a three year old set of refurbished alloys, but the paintwork (British Racing Green) is showing blotches and, as it won't go, is it worth anything? My mechanic is at a loss (I've used him for years, no problems), so maybe I should call it a day after 17 years of wonderful ownership. Any advice?
