What's the right colour to respray our 1972 Ford Cortina GT?

We need to respray our 1972 Ford Cortina 1.6 GT. It is a metallic green colour but we would like to know the exact name of the original colour. Can anyone help?

It sounds like it could be Apollo Green. Are you respraying the entire car or just a section of it? If it's just the odd panel it will be better to get a paint match done, otherwise it'll look too new compared to the rest of the car. If you'd like more information on the colour, try speaking to one of the Ford Cortina Mk1-5 Club (www.mk1-5cortinaownersclub.co.uk/).
