Derek Buglar’s 1938 Alvis 12/70 DHC

Derek’s Alvis was found in a domestic garage after 50 years of hibernation, and has received no cosmetic work since. With fewer than 30 believed to have survived, this will be a guaranteed draw for vintage car fans. ‘It really is as-found,’ says Derek. ‘It was a non-runner when we collected it, but cosmetically it’s exactly how it left the garage.’ First found by Derek’s son Lee while buying a Daimler Sovereign 2.8, the car had been standing since 1964. Knowing his father was looking toward semi retirement, Lee thought the car would be a perfect project. ‘Our plan, all being well, is to thoroughly check all mechanics, get running and then commence restoration to a good but usable standard.’ says Derek.
