Originally recommended to me by my brother in law I first used the garage at Hailsham East Sussex about three years ago. I had taken my car at the time to a garage which was part of a national chain based in Eastbourne. They failed the Mot and produced and extensive list of items that they suggested needing doing and quoted £460.00. I took The Car to Auto Restorations and Peter(the garage owner) managed to carryout car repairs and a car service and it saled through the MoT, total cost £290.00. Since then my partner and I have bought secondhand cars again (both diesel Renault Clio and a Ford Focus). Peter gave us sound advice about things to look out for when making the purchase and has definitely saved us money in the long run. Peter advised me to change the cambelt on the Ford Focus, which had just two previous owners and full service history but 155,000 miles on the clock. I clocked up another 35,000 miles on it before the turbo blew wrecking the engine.That was last month, Auto Restorations to the rescue again, a replacement engine and remanufactured turbo were sourced and delivered to the garage at Hailsham and Peter's garage services, provided another prompt affordable solution. I was at a cross roads and weighing up whether to buy new and the associated cost or run with "better the devil you know than the devil you don't" I knew the car and was pleased with its features and performance voted Car of The Year when registered. I assessed the original purchase costs, insurance, tax, MoT Test and ongoing maintenance costs including the proposed works and fuel purchased average 500 mile to a tank costing approximately £70 those 35,000 miles had cost the eqivalent of 0.26p per mile. Personally I do not know of any other comparitively comfortable form of travel that is so cost effective. I have no doubt that this would have not been achievable without access to the car mechanics whose car repairs and car service costs are so reasonable. I actually live 17 miles from Auto Restorations, garage at Hailsham but would not consider taking my car anywhere else.
