A Grand Monday: 37k Ford Orion

Published 06 July 2015

Ford Orion prices are starting to firm up a bit now. You can still pick up a decent runner for £500, while cars with good history and few owners have a pricetag of about £1500. That figure will rise to £1800 (or more) for a top-spec model at a dealer.

We spotted this clean and tidy 1990 Ford Orion 1.3L for £1695, which makes it one of the most expensive on the market today. It’s a two-owner car and is described by the vendor as ‘not the usual rubbish’.

It’s a manual car and has been garaged all its life. It was with its first owner for 24 years, which suggests it has been well looked after. Currently in Sussex, the Orion comes with a full service history to back up the mileage, which is currently 37k.

We’re told this Mk2 example drives well and will come with a new MoT. As you can see from the pictures, the interior and engine bay look quite tidy, although there is some wear to the driver’s seat bolster. It does look quite free of rust, though, which should help justify the price tag.
