At least two over $4 million in Barrett Jackson Scotsdale Arizona auction on Saturday 17th

The sale has only just closed, but highlights at Barrett Jackson on 17^th January once again came from the Ron Pratte collection, sold off for charity so every dollar raised goes to do good thing.

The late Carrol Shelby’s own famous 1966 Cobra 427 Super Snake that turns over 800HP on the dyno went for $4,700,000. Not quite the $5 million in fetched in a previous Barrett Jackson auction, but still top money for a Cobra.

Hot on its heels was $4,600,000 paid for a stunning example of the 1950 GM Futureliner from the Ron Pratte collection, followed by $3,000,000 for the 1954 Pontiac Bonneville Motorama concept car.

For me, car of the sale, was the Jimmy Shine So Cal built 1934 Ford pick-up retro rod with a supercharged flathead motor that took it to 200mph on the salt flats and sold for $250,000.

I guess closely followed by the incredible Boyd Coddington 1936 Delahaye street rod 'Whatthehaye' that made $610,000. 

Richard Rawlings of Gas Monkey Garage bought this 1972 De Tomaso Pantera custom for $300,000 (though he'd have done better with the perfect straight original Pantera sold by Historics last November for £60k.)

The Gas Monkey Garage 1970 Ferrari F40 sold for $675,000 at Barrett Jackson's Scottsdale auction in 2014. This January it came up again and made $532,000 ($671k including commission).

This iconic primer grey ’55 Chevy with a 454 raced for pink slips in the James Taylor movie ‘Two Lane Blacktop’ sold for $145,000 ($159,500 inc). 

And the incredible Randy Grubb created Blastolene B-702 V12 roadster sold for $500,000 + commission.
