Land Rover Sales Success

7 March 2000

Land Rover has today announced a strong sales performance for the first two months of 2000. A total of 4186 vehicles were sold representing an increase of 5.1% compared to 1999 levels. This is at a time when the overall car market is nearly 3% lower than 1999.

Commenting on the sales performance Mike Wright, managing director Land Rover UK, stated: "The Land Rover brand continues to enjoy high demand with many sales being conquested from conventional saloon cars. Sales of Freelander have undoubtedly benefited from attractive consumer finance offers that will run until the end of March."

Land Rover sales world-wide were also up 8% at the end of February v 1999. In particular Land Rover sales in the world's largest 4x4 market, the United States, again hit new record highs with sales up 14% v 1999.
