Rover Builds More Cars

31 December 1987

NEW YORK TIMES

Britain's state-controlled Rover Group P.L.C. says it has built 14.5 percent more cars this year than last, mainly because of demand abroad. Production rose to more than 468,000, from 408,677 in 1986. Last month Rover (once called British Leyland) said it would show a pretax profit for 1987, its first since 1983.
