Record output boost Jag jobs

8 June 1987

DAILY EXPRESS

Jaguar car makers are to hire 800 more workers on top of the 1,000 new jobs created this year to handle record production.
Worldwide demand for the new XJ6 saloon s has led to 4,402 cars being made by the Coventry based company last month—well up on the previous best figure of 4,118 in December 1985.

And a record 47,000 cars will be made in 1987 by 13,000 workers compared to 14,000 by 7200 employees in 1978 when Sir John Egan took over as chairman.
