BMC factory extends shift working

26 January 1963

FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT OXFORD, JAN. 25

Night-shift working at the British Motor Corporation's Morris Motors factory at Cowley, Oxford, is to be extended next month to a further 1,000 workers to produce, in the first place, 800 more cars a week. The men have agreed to work alternately two weeks on days and two weeks on nights.

Morris Motors have recruited several hundred workers in recent weeks to enable them to extend shift working.
