B.M.C. MACHINISTS TO END STRIKE

The 73 machinists whose unofficial strike at the British Motor Corporation's tractor and transmissions factory, Birmingham, caused 2,000 production workers at Birmingham and Oxford to be laid off. are to return to work on Monday.

The men have been on strike in a dispute over piecework rates, and discussions will take place after the return to work. B.M.C. said that the 700 workers on Mini-Minor production who had been laid off at Cowley would return on Tuesday. Longbridge workers would restart on Monday and Tuesday.
