Citroen EGS6 gearbox. What are your latest thoughts?

I have been browsing your answers to questions about the egs gearbox used by Citroen and note that you said on 17 July 2011 they had been improved. The car salesman tells me that improvements have been made to the gearbox in the last 2 years, but he is trying to sell me a car and I would value your opinion. What is your opinion about the use of this gearbox (now called ESG6) and is it better suited to the e-hdi engine or the THP155petrol engine in the C4? Many thanks.

I would not buy one. Because they are automated manuals that simulate a driver changing gear the driving experience may have been improved but they will always eventually be subject to clutch and/or actuator failure.
