Which small car to replace my 2000 Volkswagen Golf?

I am a single 66-year old lady who does not enjoy changing cars. I am usually loyal to my car choice. My present car is a diesel 1.9 TDI Volkswagen Golf, bought new in 2000 and now with 135,000 miles on the clock. It has been brilliant and still is, really. Have you a suggestion for a new car in the Polo size range? I need reliability, to be good on motorway and shorter trips, to be economical on fuel and to be low emissions.

I suggest the new Ford Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost 125 (test is of the three door but there is also a five door): www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/ford/ford-fiesta-2.../

Petrol rather than diesel means no problem with EGRs or DPFs.
