Why doesn't my warranty cover fuel tank breather fault?

I purchased an extended warranty when I bought a 2008 SEAT Ibiza Ecomotiv from a dealer. The breather to the fuel tank is leaking, and I am told this is not covered by the warranty and that I need to replace the fuel tank. I cannot understand why something like this is not covered. Is this problem and a common exemption?

It's a lousy warranty. You could take the dealer (not the warranty company) to the Small Claims Track of the County Court for selling you a car "of unsatisfactory quality" with a warranty "of unsatisfactory quality" and sue for the full cost of the repair
